Passengers under the age of 12 or those having a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate are exempt from the pre-departure test. The Malta vaccine certificate may be used until the 11th August after which only the EU Digital Covid Certificate may be used. Otherwise, passengers are required to present either a negative

  • PCR, LAMP or TMA test taken within 72 hours prior arrival; or
  • Antigen test taken within 48 hours prior arrival; or
  • Antigen test for personal use recorded in an official data processing system within 24 hours prior arrival.

Passengers without a vaccine certificate, recovery certificate or a test will be tested at their own cost within 24 hours of arrival. They are also required to fill in this form: If it is not possible to register using the electronic form, the following may be used: GermanEnglish

Exemptions to the test requirement may apply under national law

 Minors traveling alone must also meet the respective regular entry requirements such as registration for pre-travel clearance, testing and quarantine.

 Quarantine measures do not apply for travel to Austria from Malta.

Community masks may only be worn by pregnant passengers or passengers under the age of 14 on board the aircraft. Other passengers are kindly requested to wear an FFP2 mask or a mask with a higher protection.
