Catania Airport Disruption Due Volcanic Ash - 14th August 2023

Due to volcanic ash dispersal, Catania Airport has closed the airport for all operations for a period during the early morning of 14th August.

Upon clearing, the airport will be re-opened for inbound and outbound flights.

This has unfortunately resulted in a six-hour delay to Air Malta flights KM640 from Malta to Catania and KM641 from Catania to Malta.

Customers have been provided refreshments in both airports during the flight delay.

This may result in other ongoing disruption during the course of the day as operations recover.
