Mellieha Bay Malta

Intriguingly scenic, the resort is only 1 mile away from the striking village of Mellieha which sits on top of a hill.

The largest sandy beach in the Maltese Islands, Mellieha Bay or better-known as Ghadira is a very popular holiday resort in the north of the island. Located on the coast road leading to Cirkewwa and the Gozo ferry, the beach is considered safe for bathing with no undercurrents.

Renowned for its beautiful long sandy beach and shallow waters that stretch out for a mile, Ghadira Bay is the perfect destination for families and those who prefer to relax on the beach.  Here, you can also hire a sun lounger and an umbrella to protect yourself from the Maltese sun. Sports such as water skiing, pedalos and rides are all fun activities that take place here.

With plenty of beach bars and cafes, you can also enjoy the beach in the evening when a lot more bars and restaurants open.  With a relaxed atmosphere, Ghadira is much quieter when compared to other beaches in the winter months. On the contrary, the summer season sees the beach coming alive with bustling activity.

Only a mile away from Mellieha, the village also offers high end restaurants, shops and small supermarkets that line its steep streets.
