Golden Bay

Best known as the ideal location for working on your suntan, Fomm ir-Rih Bay has much more to offer other than beautiful views

Located in the northwestern part of the island, couples as well as families are lured to this bay. Accessible by car or on foot if you’re residing at a nearby hotel, this bay offers a myriad of opportunities for activity. The water here is safe for swimming. However due to strong currents, red flags will advise you to stay in shallow areas when the sea is too rough .

The bay is the most frequented Maltese beach after Mellieha Bay. It is also a favourite spot for barbeque parties during the summer months.

Spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed here while cafes and restaurants are also available. If you are feeling particularly adventurous, try your hand at a water sport such as para-sailing.  

If you are visiting in the Spring or Autumn, take a stroll across the bay and enjoy the views.
