Paying for your flights

You can find all the current accepted methods of payment for Air Malta here, making it as convenient as possible to purchase your flights.  Here are the current accepted methods of payment.

When paying online

If you choose to book your flights online, you can choose to pay using one of these major international credit cards:

  • American Express
  • MasterCard
  • Visa

You can still book and pay for your flights online if the passenger and credit card holder are not the same person. However, payment with debit cards is currently not available.

If you are logged in to your MyKM account, you can safely save your credit card details in your profile in order to use again for future bookings. Don’t have an account? Register now

If you are a Flypass member, you can choose to redeem your KMiles to pay for a flight. Learn more here.

If you don’t have a credit card. Unfortunately, a credit card is required to pay for an online reservation. You may still contact our reservations team and make a provisional booking on a time limit.

Currencies we accept. At the moment, we are only accepting payments made in EURO and GBP (British Sterling)

Remember that some credit card companies may charge you a transaction fee for purchases.  Please check with your credit card company directly if you have questions about this.

Administration Charge

When you’re booking online, you will also be presented with small service fee of 19 EURO.  This is in line with common airline procedures and goes towards maintaining the online booking system and its upgrades.

Secure payments, guaranteed
When paying online on this site, you can rest assured that your credit details are handled completely securely and anonymously. Our site features the latest data encryption technology to make sure that your details are safe and protected from third parties.

Pricing:  Note that fares may increase / decrease in accordance with seat availability for a flight. As a general rule, fares will increase as the travel date moves closer. Occasionally, when a group cancels and seats are returned to the system inventory fares may decrease as a result of more availability. On the other hand, it may be that whilst you are viewing a particular fare for a flight, another person is actually in the process of booking a seat for that same flight. This could have been the last seat available at that fare, and therefore you will in turn be offered a higher fare from that point onwards.

Verification:  After you enter your card details another window might pop up and ask for verification.  This is because some cards are “3D secure” and the bank would require further verification before the system lets you proceed with your transaction.  Should the information required be inserted incorrectly or the pop-up window closed, this would send a message to the bank and the transaction would be treated as fraudulent, thus resulting in the termination of the booking.  If you do have any queries about the information required on the pop-up window, kindly contact your bank for further assistance.

Other accepted methods of payment

Cash payments for reservations are only accepted at our Malta International Airport sales office. We do not accept payment by cash or cheques anywhere else.
We are currently working on introducing alternative methods of payment online.

Paying for other services

On this site, we only directly handle payments made on flight reservations and related flight services. If you decide to book your hotel or rent a car through our site, those payments will be handled by Booking.com and CarTrawler.com respectively.
