Air Malta replies to Media comments about its inflight magazine, Il-Bizzilla
Reference is made to certain social media comments about Il-Bizzilla, the airline’s inflight magazine.
Air Malta would like to state that the social media post currently circulating is an error that occurred more than five years ago in the January 2017 edition, and which had attracted a similar reaction at the time. It is a pity that this dated error is now being used to put the airline in bad light.
Following this error, the airline, together with the publishers, had taken steps to ensure a better product. Both the editorial team and proof-readers have been changed and additional quality controls and verification processes have been put in place.
Il-Bizzilla is published every month and is available in every seat pocket on board Air Malta flights. The magazine accompanies passengers on their journeys and presents an interesting guide to what is happening on the Islands. It offers a unique exposure to the culture, heritage, history, and traditions of the Maltese Islands with diverse content whilst inspiring guests to explore, experience, and learn more about the Islands. Every issue includes stories and interviews with local talent and artists. Recipes by celebrated Maltese chefs honour culinary traditions, and many times local dishes are given a playful twist. Readers are also kept abreast on the airline’s activities, highlights, and future plans.
Air Malta fully supports this project as it, not only offers its guests interesting reading material, but it also provides the airline with a steady monthly revenue at no cost.
Despite the ongoing pandemic and the reduction in travellers over the past two years, Air Malta’s inflight magazine, produced in collaboration with agency TBWA\ANG, has continued to maintain its monthly appointment with its readers. As countries continue to open up and more individuals restart travelling, the airline looks forward to welcoming more guests and readers of its inflight magazine, onboard its flights very soon.

The first edition of Il-Bizzilla was published in January 2013 and gave homage to its name, the Maltese lace making tradition and its craftsmanship which can be traced back to the 16th Century. Last year the magazine celebrated its 100th edition.
